Sherry M. Hodge currently serves as the Coordinator of the Pupil Referral Unit. She graduated from the University of the West Indies in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish and French. She also holds a Master of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language from Universidad Del Turabo in Puerto Rico and one in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon.

Sherry Hodge is a certificated teacher with the University of the  West Indies and has a Highky Qualified Professional Educator Class II teaching license with the Virgin Islands Board of Education (VIBE) where she worked from 2008-2017. She was named Foreign Language Teacher of the Year (FLTOY) in 2012-2013.

Miss Hodge’s philosophy of education is that all students have the ability to learn even if at different levels and in different contexts. However, this is dependent on the quality of instruction and care provided to them in the educational setting, whether at school or st home, and if they are given the opportunity to learn in a relaxed and safe environment which supports the development of their critical thinking skills.

Miss Hodge has taught English, French, and Spanish at the secondary level, ESL adult education, and curriculum development in ESL at the University of the Virgin Islands. 

In 2016, she published her first grammar reference book entitled, Grammar Aerobics: Building Core Knowledge in Beginning and Intermediate Spanish. 

Miss Hodge loves to sing and act and is a volleyball fanatic.

I want to take moment to introduce myself as a teacher at the Pupil Referral Unit of the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School. My name is Leonise Francis and this is my second year working with this unit. I look forward to connecting and staying connected with you throughout the school year. It is important that my students and their parents feel comfortable in my classroom. It is also my pleasure to keep you updated with what we do and the various events my students are engaged in. Welcome to the "hunt" where Mr Burgess will be your guide,  as you explore the world :your oyster,  abounding with pearls. 
Be yourself, make mistakes and be inquisitive.  The only non-negotiable requirement is that you try, try and try some more.  My word is my honor, so mark my words when I say that I will be Fair,  Firm and Friendly. 
In your youthful, playful and sometimes childish ways, you are unpaid "teachers " who instill in me patience, compassion and commitment. I pledge to lead this hunt with these same character traits but don't expect perfection. 
Parents, I urge you to support us in this journey in every way that you can.  Pay us a visit, attend meetings and other activities and encourage your child to see the hunt through. 
My guiding principle is: It is easier to raise strong children than to fix broken men.

WELCOME! They call me Teach! I am a creative individual with a passion for music, digital arts and enriching the lives of young people in the Caribbean.

I currently serve as a PRU Digital Media Teacher at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School. In my off time I run a nonprofit digital studio providing mentoring, management and developmental services for Caribbean youth interested in digital art professions (KOTN). I also co-founded Digital Creative, a community-based, educational summer workshop for students that focuses on the digital arts.

I remain committed to creating a platform for young artists and professionals to reach their dreams. More so, I love working with the students of PRU because they provide the most creative solutions yet!
